Japan Day and Taiko Drumming Concert
Beverley High School
The school's Japan Day was a huge success, involving 200 pupils in Year 10 during the day and with 650 people attending a taiko concert by Mugenkyo in the evening.
The day was enhanced by the involvement of Japanese nationals from local universities as well as 6 students from Beverley High School's link school in Japan.
Pupils were involved in 11 different 'hands-on' workshops including: shinto & tanabata; Japanese language; Green Tea, Geisha and Gardens; a Taste of the Orient; Textiles; Kite-making; Judo; Japanese film; Art; Taiko and a Virtual Trip to Japan.
