Hanayui in the UK
Hanayui, the sister group of Kodo, toured to venues in the UK for two weeks with their blend of Japanese folk dance, song and taiko, visiting Edinburgh, Exeter and London.
The tour included public workshops, collaborative public performances with UK taiko groups, and programme development sessions.
In Scotland, a joint performance with Mugenkyo at the Queen's Hall, Edinburgh, was an interweaving of the delicacy and grace of Hanayui's dance and song
with the energy and power of the taiko.
The performance was followed the following day by a public workshop at the Mugen Taiko Dojo for 20 participants who had travelled from all over the UK.
