Aberdeen International Youth Festival - Kabuki Workshop

A Kabuki workshop led by Danjiro Ichikawa, the leader and founder of the Hakodate Kodomo Kabuki Group, Hokkaido.
Workshops were held with three different theatre or dance schools. Each of the groups was introduced to the essence of Kabuki - movement, expressions and background.
The participants learnt about the history of Kabuki. They were also introduced to the different roles in Kabuki, and the different movements and expressions that go with every role. Afterwards they would try out these for themselves.
The workshop was finished with a short Kabuki scene performed by the participants.
