Woodblock printing for secondary students
British Museum
The Museum's Education Department organised four one-day courses designed to give secondary pupils a hands-on introduction to ukiyo-e and woodblock prints.
UK-based artist and papermaker Hiroko Imada guided students through the process of sketching, designing and producing their own woodblock prints. Many of the students chose interesting designs from the mounts or prints on display in the Museum's Japanese Galleries.
