Japan 21 has a number of other resources that can be borrowed by schools, some in class sets, others as individual items.

Class sets of the Japanese abacus are available, as are teaching soroban. Worksheets can also be downloaded to help you make the most of the resources.
The Association of Teachers of Mathematics sells soroban and has recently published a new Introduction to the Soroban. |
calligraphy brushes
Class sets of regular calligraphy brushes and fude pen (pre-inked brush pens) can be borrowed by schools. Please indicate on the booking form which you require.
miscellaneous items
We have a wide range of other items in quantities too small to offer on regular loan. However, if you are looking for specific resources that do not appear on these pages, please email us or telephone 020 7592 7038. We may be able to help or to put you in touch with someone else who can.
Resources are free if they are collected from and returned to this office by the school. If they are posted to you, we will invoice you for the cost of postage. The precise cost will depend on the weight of the resources borrowed. The maximum charge for a single parcel up to 30kg in weight is currently £11.50 +VAT (Feb 2008), though this is subject to variations in ParcelForce prices. Smaller parcels may be cheaper to send. Loan is usually for a half-term period.
