The Way We Are

An exhibition of photographs by and of Japanese high school students - giving an insider's view of the lives of young people in Japan. What interests them? How do they spend their time? Through these exciting and eye-opening pictures of 20 Japanese teenagers, your students will begin to build a picture of a country of contrasts and change.

The Way We Are consists of 25 A1-size photo panels, which come ready to hang and with comprehensive notes and activity ideas. It is particularly relevant to secondary schools teaching Japanese, teaching about Japan in other subjects, or with courses in photography.

The exhibition is available on free loan to schools, for periods of half a term. Japan 21 will cover the transportation costs and arrange delivery and collection from your school. All you have to do is find the space to hang it!

To request The Way We Are, please complete our online booking form. If you have any questions, please email us or telephone 020 7592 7038.

Thanks to The Japan Forum for allowing us to use these photographs in the UK.

* The Japan Foundation now has a series of picture panels for loan resources. The panels are of Japan's World Heritage sites taken by renowned photographer Kazuyoshi Miyoshi. For more details and for booking please visit their loan resources page.
