School links
The Japan Society (Japan 21) works with schools in the UK and Japan, helping them to find and develop successful links. As well as making initial introductions, we provide ongoing back-up and
advice. We are the main channel through which schools with no personal contacts find their links and we work closely with the British Council in
Tokyo and other organisations on this.
Schools are linked as requests for partners arrive: there is no set deadline for applications. In some cases, it is possible to find a partner school almost immediately, while
in others it may take some time to find a suitable link school. A school link should be seen as a long term commitment: it takes time to set up and implement a link, and we are
unlikely to be able to find one to tie in with a pre-arranged short term project.
We make no charge for this service.
For more information on school links, please see our guidelines or, to apply for a link, please complete the
online form. The guidelines are also available in downloadable pdf format (116kb file).
If you have a link with a school in Japan, you may be interested in applying for British Council funding for a Joint Curriculum Project. Please click here for more details of this and other British Council initiatives.
