School visits

There is no doubt that a unit of work on Japan is enhanced by the visit of someone with first hand knowledge of the country or the ability to share a particular skill.

Japan in Your Classroom
If your class is doing a project on Japan or you simply wish to add a multicultural dimension to your regular teaching, a visit from the Japan in Your Classroom volunteers will provide your pupils with a first-hand experience of Japanese culture.

The volunteers come equipped with a range of authentic Japanese artefacts, reflecting traditional and modern aspects of everyday life. Most importantly, they know Japan from the inside out.

Access to Experts
This list of people with expertise in specific Japanese traditions is particularly useful for those who are planning workshops as part of Japan days or weeks or multicultural arts events.

They offer their services on a professional basis and will charge a fee to lead workshops. They may be able to deal with larger numbers of students per day than the Japan in Your Classroom volunteers and can be engaged to spend successive days at your school.
