Mark Alcock has studied, performed and taught Japanese Taiko drumming since 1992.
Gaining a thorough grounding in Taiko drumming from the Tennon Daiko drummers of Wakayama Prefecture in Japan, he was one of the first members of Mugenkyo, played with Joji Hirota for ten years, and has led his own group Taiko Meantime, in which he composes and performs, since 2001.
Mark was among the first to lead hands-on Taiko workshops in UK schools, and since 1995 has given thousands of school children the unique chance to learn about and play taiko drums.
He leads both single-day workshops and long-term projects in schools, focusing on posture, technique, tradition, musicality, performance and FUN!
Full details of Mark's workshops can be found in the school workshop section of the Taiko Meantime website. If you have any special requirements, please let Mark know. |
