| Origami: paper folding is a fascinating educational programme presented by Steve Biddle, professional author and entertainer. The workshop has already been performed in many parts of the country.
The workshop provides children from six upwards with a live exposure to the performing arts, offers a chance to fold origami and lets them enjoy themselves at the same time.
Workshop Goals
The workshop offers a series of baffling origami and other paper folding feats, mixed with a lot of audience participation. But beyond the fun (or, I should say, along with it) will be the important theme which emphasises the great
pleasure and value of folding and reading. Paper folding will also display many characteristics that are instrumental in stimulating and enriching a child's imagination, creative ideas and geometrical way of thinking.
Track Record
Since 1986 - thanks to the help and encouragement of many librarians and teachers - I have performed well over three thousand shows for children. Getting children to laugh and learn has been my full-time occupation for those
16 years. I have studied origami in Japan with the top origami masters, thereby acquiring a deeper knowledge of a subject that has always fascinated me.
I have written many books for Random House/Red Fox and published dozens of papercraft articles in entertainment, craft and educational magazines. I am also a member of the Magic Circle and have appeared on many well-known television programmes. |
