| I have experience as an art worker with disabled people doing painting and sculpture and as an art assistant with children with special needs, doing origami supporting maths.
I was born in Catania in the south of Italy. I studied at the Academy of Fine Art, including a thesis on Japanese art prints. Later I studied Japanese and oriental culture in Bologna including a course in Buddhist art. I have taught art in Italy and in the UK, where I now live, teaching, organising origami workshops, continuing to study, doing research, participating in exhibitions and helping disabled people with art.
My artwork is inspired by my real nature on this earth and to spread emotions to the world. In my paintings, using ink in a calligraphy and abstract way, I come back to the past, my past and also to the historic and cultural past, associated to the scribe communication of oriental people and the modern usage of Chinese and Japanese ideograms.
My art style represents the harmony of a logical research with my personal and instinctive action that change with the time, my time and the time around. I always try to represent moment of peace and meditation, sometimes using a base of cork wood to recreate an old landscape where everything on earth was balanced, some other times I use paper recalling different cultures as a universal communication.
