| Suzanne Perrin studied History of Western Art and the Fine Arts gaining B.A.Hons at Exeter College of Art & Design (1973); and Masters Degree at Chelsea School of Art (1976); worked as professional illustrator and tutoring DTP courses during 1980s.
Studied Nihonga (traditional Japanese painting) at Nagoya University of Art (1986-87); attained Japanese Language Proficiency Level 3 in 1993.
Taught Japanese History and Art at Richmond American International University in London (1988 -2001); lectured for NADFAS, universities, museums and adult education, and contributed to the Asian Arts Courses for Sothebys at the V&A and the British Museum.
Founded Japan Interlink in 1995 to promote educational and cultural exchange links between Japan and the UK. Worked to promote educational exchange programmes between universities of art in Japan and the UK 1996 -2001, including founding links between School of Art & Design at University of Brighton with Nagoya University of Arts, Japan.
Organised Japanese cultural events for nation wide Japan Festivals in the UK in 1991/2 and 2001/2 , including traditional Kabuki dance, Kimono exhibitions and Japanese cultural festival days.
Gave lecture tours on Japanese Art & Culture for AADFAS in Australia in 1987 & 2000, and for DARTS in South Africa in 2002. Currently visiting lecturer at University of Cape Town, South Africa and Richmond American International University in London. Organises study tour groups to Japan and China. |
